Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and caring Lab Technician / Dental Assistant to join our dental team.

At River Run Dental, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality dental care and creating beautiful, healthy smiles for our patients. We’re expanding our team and looking for a skilled Dental assistant and Lab Technician to join our talented group of professionals. As a Dental Lab Technician, you’ll be an integral part of our practice, responsible for creating custom dental prosthetics that ensure our patients' comfort, functionality, and aesthetic needs are met.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Dental Lab Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing and fabricating dental appliances such as crowns, bridges, dentures, and implants based on the specifications provided by the dentist. You will work closely with the dental team to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely completion of all dental prosthetics. This team member will produce same-day products for in-office treatment and support our multiple locations with fabrication of prosthetics. You will be responsible for tracking, organizing and delivering the lab cases to each office weekly(6 locations). A clean driving record and reliable transportation are a must. 

Responsibilities

  • Primary Role

    • Fabrication of Dental Prosthetics: Design and create crowns, bridges, dentures, retainers,nightguards and other dental prostheses based on dentist prescriptions and patient requirements.
    • Design: Design appliances using OrthoCAD and Itero scanning software/impressions to doctor’s specifications and preferences.
    • Molding & Casting: Take accurate molds and impressions of dental structures, and create working casts.
    • Customization: Customize dental appliances, ensuring they fit, function properly, and align with patients’ aesthetic expectations.
    • Repair & Adjustment: Repair broken dental prosthetics, adjust existing appliances for fit, and reline dentures as necessary.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and assistants to ensure proper fitting and functionality of dental devices.
    • Quality Control: Ensure all work meets safety, regulatory, and quality standards. Make necessary adjustments to ensure the final product is perfect for the patient.
    • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of dental prosthetics created, repairs made, and any adjustments to materials.
    • Delivery of Dental Prosthetics: Delivery of lab cases to each office (6 total offices) on a weekly basis. 

     

    Secondary Role

    • Chairside Assistance: Support the dentist during procedures, managing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort. 
    • Patient Care: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, organized environment. 
    • X-Ray Imaging: Capture dental X-rays, adhering to safety protocols. 
    • Patient Education: Guide patients on oral hygiene, post-op care, and treatment options. 
    • Records Management: Accurately update patient records and dental charts in EHR systems. 
    • Infection Control: Strictly follow sterilization and disinfection protocols. 
    • Appointment Scheduling: Help manage and confirm patient appointments. 
    • Collaboration: Work closely with the dental team to ensure smooth patient flow and support. 

Qualifications

  • Certification or degree in Dental Laboratory Technology (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience as a Dental Lab Technician (preferred, but not required for entry-level positions)
  • Strong knowledge of dental materials, techniques, and lab equipment
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication, organization and collaboration skills
  • Dental Assisting experience
  • X-ray certification 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Proficient in dental procedures and instrument handling. 
  • Thorough understanding of infection control protocols and OSHA standards.
